Skillet Biscuits With Berries

Nate discovered this recipe in my latest issue of Food and Wine and immediately begged me to make it.  This recipe is as simple as forming quick little buttery biscuits and placing them atop bubbling berries and allowing the steam to cook the biscuits through.  The biscuits are finished by placing them under the broiler for five minutes.  It was every bit as delicious as pie and a million times more simple.  You could make this in a pinch for unexpected guests with whatever fruit you had on hand.

sounds like my cobblers..except I don’t form biscuits with the dough..just spread it over the cut up and ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and all spice, sugared apples …. mmm….

I’m in the middle if making these and had a question. What was the purpose of scooping into balls and putting on a baking sheet? Did you do that? I just don’t know why I can’t just scoop them onto the berries when the recipe calls for it.

Sorry! I’ve been completely consumed with getting married! You can totally do that. I think that placing them on the baking sheet is only if you would like to do that ahead of time. How’d yours turn out?
